The ultra lightweight Greenlight seats are now in a number of seagoing vessels, the most recent is the Seacat Mischief (pictured undergoing sea trials).
These are crew transfer vessels for the offshore wind market, each having 15 seats and a round trip taking up to 72
hours. Comfort and durability are clearly key for the occupants whereas weight saving gives a very significant ROI for the boat operator in terms of fuel consumption.
The seat system, including plinth and SDC’s own lightweight suspension system passed the DNV-GL industry certification in November and is now on sale worldwide.
